Art & Health

"Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind."
~Bruce Lee

Sweet Pea has teamed up with the newly owned and operated Doctors Choice Clinic (www.doctorschoiceclinic.com) to create a little ambiance for patients on the road to recovery. What better way to symbolize renewal than with the strongest woody tree and fastest growing plant on earth; the bamboo. Bamboo is able to completely regenerate without the need to replant and can be replenished with no negative impact on the environment.

This forest of stalks are painted from mid-view while green shoots boast long-slender leaves. Younger stalks bend to the edges of the 5 x 2.5 foot canvas and the background mirrors colour choices from the clinic, a calm khaki green. In colour therapy, green represents nature, life, self-respect and well-being; all noted in connection with the healing processes taking place through rehabilitation.

On behalf of Sweet Pea Murals, health and happiness to the staff and patients at Doctors Choice.
